IT brain beautifies Mumbai

Shravan Queen of Maharashtra Times (First Runner Up): Prachi Pisat

Ms. Prachi Pisat, a second year student of Vidyalankar School of Information Technology (VSIT), made her college proud by bagging the ‘Shravan Queen 2009’ title and crown at a glitzy ceremony held at the Tip Top Plaza in Thane on August 12, 2009. The confident and gorgeous Pisat won many compliments for her poise and witty answers in the event and with her multifaceted, extra-curricular record proved to be the perfect combination of beauty and brain. Prachi was among 20 young women short-listed from 300 participants, to make a grand entry in the first introduction round. The second round saw the contestants posing in western costumes in a ramp-walk, following which, 10 of them were selected for the third round, where, draped in traditional sarees, they fielded questions and wowed the spectators.

The jury comprised stalwarts like Nitin Desai (producer of the serial ‘Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ on the channel Star Pravah), Prasad Oak, Kishori Shahane (famous Marathi actress), Swapnil Shinde (international fashion designer), Suhasini Male (senior actress) and Leena Mogre (leading international fitness guru). Pisat’s intelligent answer in the final round impressed everyone present. It was indeed a moment of great pride for Vidyalankar when Puja Sawant, last year’s titleholder, finally crowned her ‘Shravan Queen ’09. She won gift hampers and vouchers from Sachin Travels, Portico Cygnas Jewellery, Lagu Bandhu and Jean junction.

In her moment of victory, Ms. Pisat gave due credit to her college, acknowledged the support of the Principal and lecturers and stressed that participating in the college festivals had enriched her personality. She said that her aim is to be recognized in society for the work she does and to make her parents proud of her deeds.

The Vidyalankar family congratulates Ms. Pisat for her wonderful accomplishment and wishes the very best for her future.
